Tata Aeris Price In India Expected At ₹6-10 Lakh: Specifications, Launch Date Of Tigor’s Replacement

Tata Motors is set to retire the Tigor nameplate after nearly a decade in the market. The carmaker will unveil its replacement, the Tata Aeris, on September 25, 2026, with an official teaser video already hinting at a bolder new design for the sub-four-metre sedan.

Expected Price And Launch Date

The Tata Aeris is expected to be priced between ₹6 lakh and ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it in direct competition with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze. Full pricing, along with variant-wise details, is expected to be announced at the September 25 unveiling.

Design Changes

Tata’s teaser has already revealed a new indigo exterior shade and pointed to a heavily revised front end. The Aeris is expected to get a redesigned grille, new LED headlamps with a daytime running light similar to the Tiago, updated alloy wheels, and an overall more mature styling language compared to the outgoing Tigor. The car is being marketed under the tagline “Break the Mould,” signalling a clear shift away from the Tigor’s older design identity.

Cabin And Features

Inside, the Aeris is expected to bring a significant equipment upgrade. Reports point to a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a semi-digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and cruise control.

Engine And Transmission Options

The Tata Aeris is expected to retain the familiar 1.2-litre, 1199cc petrol engine seen on the Tigor and Tiago, paired with manual and automatic transmission choices. A factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG version is also on the cards, reportedly producing around 76 PS and 97 Nm, and notably, Tata is expected to offer this CNG variant with a 5-speed AMT, a rare feature in the segment where most CNG cars are offered only with manual gearboxes.

On safety, the Aeris is likely to come with six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, hill hold control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and rain-sensing wipers.
