Tecno has launched the Spark 50s 5G in India, starting at Rs 19,999. The company says rising memory prices have pushed entry-level 5G phones out of reach, and this phone is its answer.
Price and Availability
The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model costs Rs 19,999, while the 8GB and 128GB model costs Rs 22,999. Sales begin on 20 October. Most reports say the phone will be sold exclusively through offline retail stores, though a few mention Amazon, so check before publishing.
Key Specifications
The phone has a 6.78-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling. It runs on the 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chip with Android 16-based HiOS 16. Storage is UFS 2.2 and can be expanded by up to 2TB with a microSD card. A 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera handle photos. The 6,500mAh battery supports 45W wired charging. It has IP64 Pro dust and splash protection, MIL-STD-810H certification, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Software Features
Tecno lists AI Noise Cancellation for calls, Google Gemini integration and Circle to Search. It also promises UPS 3.0 for faster UPI transactions in crowded areas, and a FreeLink feature for calls and texts between compatible devices over distances of up to 1.5km in open areas.
How It Differs From the Spark 50 5G
The Spark 50 5G launched on 27 March with the same Dimensity 6400 chip, 6.78-inch HD+ 120Hz display, 50MP camera, 6,500mAh battery, 45W charging, IP64 Pro rating and MIL-STD-810H certification. The visible differences are RAM and price. The Spark 50 5G came in 4GB (Rs 16,999) and 6GB (Rs 18,999) versions, while the Spark 50s 5G offers 6GB (Rs 19,999) and 8GB (Rs 22,999).
Is It Worth It?
The Mobile Indian says the phone offers decent value, but that for slightly less you can get a similar spec sheet, naming the Mivi One 5G as an example. The 8GB version also lands above the Rs 20,000 mark, so shoppers may want to compare rivals.
